How to Reach Lalakhal – Renting a Car or Microbus

Lalakhal is located about 44 km from Sylhet city. Tourists can visit by car, microbus, Lagoonas and local bus. Car or Microbus rental from Sylhet to Lalakhal is 2500-3500 taka per day. The drive normally takes 60 to 90 minutes. CNG Auto-rickshaw (not recommended) costs about 1000-1500 taka.  One can find many forms of very affordable public transport to reach Lalakhal. From Subhanighat Point in Sylhet City or Osmani Shishu Park, the buses (45 taka) and Lagoonas (33 taka) will arrive at Sharighat in one and a half to two hours. Lalakhal is only about 4 km from Sharighat. The fare will be 50-80 taka by local auto-rickshaw.  Tourists can also rent or share a boat or speedboat to reach Lalakhal. The boat journey is very exciting; one can experience the green-blue water of the Shari River. The boat costs approximately 500-700 taka, while the speedboat normally cost 1500-2000 taka.
